Hi, I used to always connect at 40 to 44 kbps, with my dial- up internet access. Now it only connects at 24 kbps tops. Is there an answer to this problem, or is it something I have to live with?:confused

Unfortunately, with dialup, you're pretty much stuck with what ever average connection you can connect with. There are little tweaks you can do that might improve it but somethings are out of our hands.

    For those tweaks go to:

DSLREPORTS.com and they have a section called Tools. You'll find some nifty stuff for free.

Let us know if it works.

    Hi

You could try TweakDUN and use the Optimum Preset, but also have your phoneline checked out by your phone co. especially if you have more noise on the line that you used to ( crackles and hisses, echos etc ).

But sadly you may just be at the very limit of what speeds you will now get as the internet is becoming crowded and the more in your area on internet then speeds can be hit.
