internet access

This may be a stupid question but: If there is no access to internet via cable, broadband, wifi, or dsl, what would a person need to obtain internet access other than a dish . I know there must be a way I just don't know where to look. I have a HP lap top, ie 9, windows 7. Thank you in advance.

You could tether your comp to your cell phone if it has that option.

 

I use a mi-fi device. It's not fast, just a cell phone based device that puts out a wireless connection for up to 4 devices. It rocks for road trips with kids who have ipods and ipads.
