I'm not sure there are any, short of a rather complex open-source PBX control system for Linux which I saw a few months ago...

i'm using callwave free trial. i've been using it for about 2 months (i think) without paying a cent.

    disadvantages:
    -a lotta pop-up ads
-no caller ID, just that someone called at so and so date and time
-i dun think ppl can leave messages either..

the free trial is not even an "answering machine"....

When I was on dial up, I used Pagoo. It was pretty good. I had not complaints.
