I use firefox browser, and it keeps crashing on me. This started happening a few days ago after I got the blue screen of death. I tried to play a game, and it popped up, I uninstalled the game and thought all would be fine. But then my Firefox keep freezing and not working. All other programs work fine it seems. (Besides any other browsers Ive tried) It also mainly crashes when I try to log into something, or register. I can't tell you how many times I tried to register for this site before it let me.

I ran maleware bytes and Spybot (Both were clean), I cleared cache and cookies. I defragged, Disk clean up, and everything I could think up. A friend had me type "ipconfig /flushdns" into the Run program, so I also did that. I restarted, of course. Nothing seems to work, and I'm about ready the chuck the damn thing out the window.

    Any help is really appreciated.

Welcome to MG. I don't use firefox much but from the description of your problem it would seem that your problem started with the installation of a game? Correct?

If yes, the easiest fix may be to restore your system to a point before that game.

The next thing I would try is to completely uninstall firefox, use cCleaner, both clean and registry clean, reboot and reinstall firefox.

    Luck!:):):)

I'm not exactly sure what popped up. Was it FF, an error, a BSOD or something else?
What game did you install and what version of windows and FF are you running?

The blue screen of death popped up when I tried to play the game.

Its called gunbound, but I did uninstall it afterwards, just in case. I have been playing it with no problems, it was just this one time when I went to play that the BSOD popped up. I am not sure if the BSOD is what is making my browsers act up, I just figured I should mention it.

Windows XP, and I updated my FF recently because I thought that was the problem, so its the most recent version.

Yes, I read over that the day I joined, but from what I read it sounded like you need to do that BEFORE you get the BSOD. Maybe I read it wrong?

Ill have to go re-read it.

For more information, I got the ccleaner, and ran it. I tried to do a system restore... which, oddly, didn't work. Now, when my FF crashes I get a different message from before, its has the same content, but its in a different box and looks different..if that makes any sense.

    Thats it I believe.

Thanks everyone so far for trying to help me. <3

Either malware or some corrupt system files. Suggest a visit to the Malware section of MG. Be sure to do the READ AND RUN ME FIRST.

try disabling all your add-ons then put them back on one at a time till you find the problem

agree that running these can't hurt

I followed all the steps over there in the malware Read and Run me, and have a post going on over there now.

FF is no longer opening for me at all :(

I have no plugins for IE, because this is the first time Ive even used it...

Thanks everyone for everything, hopefully I can get this resolved.

If you have done eveything in the R&R in malware forum now just be patient and leave everything alone, as changing things on the PC will only add to your problems !

    Good Luck Rusty ! ;)
