Internet Connection Occurs Automatically

I want to be able to connect to the internet manually, so I have disabled the automatic connection in the Network and Internet settings on my Windows 10. When I click on the WiFi icon, I can see the Connect Automatically box is not checked.

However, when I boot up my laptop it still connects automatically. If I reboot my laptop right after, it comes up with the internet not connected. Has anyone experienced this and have any idea as to how can I fix it?

 

Thanks plodr, but the Connect box in the Wireless Properties GUI is already disabled.

The 'Connect automatically,' Connect even if the network,' and 'Enable Intel connection' boxes are not checked.
