    Hi Friendly People

I am having a problem with my Internet connection. I was streaming the other night and my internet was fine. I turned on my computer the next day and my internet connnection speed had dropped from 105mbps to 1.30mbps the upload sp dropped from roughly 6mbps to 0.75mps..
There was some maintenance from virgin in my area around the time of this happening but that is all fixed now.
Its weird because the connection still works, its just very limited..

Here is the thing when i take my Ethernet cable out of my desktop and put it in my laptop i get my max download and upload speeds of 105mbps and 6mbps, so i think it might be my network card.
I have updated the driver with no success, i uninstalled the driver with no success. i have scanned for malware. pups etc and got nothing.. Should i try the deep clean on the malware page?

My computer is an intel i56000
    Windows 10 64x
    1TB HD
    GTX 1060
    16GB Ram

I enclosed shots of the system information, not sure if that will help though.. but just thought i would show you. Cheers guys

    Thanks

well, network cards are cheap and an easy fix if it works.
only other thought ... did windows update itself?
not that ms updates ever break things, but something to check...
    good luck with it.

I hope they are cheap lol :)

It did update itself but worked fine for a few days then conked out..
Do you think it is the card as the connection works on my laptop?

Also are network cards universal? or will i need a specific one for my particular motherboard?

    Many thanks

They are, so you better look inside your system to see if it is integrated or not.

No. You've already been given a solution:
Install this and just don't use the integrated Ethernet port.

You might want to all so call your service provider to come out and check your system. If your lines are more than 5 years old they might need to be looked at for a bad connection some where.Either in the home or on the outside of the house or pool.

    Hi

I dont think it is the provider. when i plug my ethernet cable into my laptop i get the full speed that my service provides.

I am currently seeing if my computer is covered by the 3 year warranty i got, it says 3 Year Silver Warranty (1 Year Collect & Return, 1 Year Parts, 3 Year Labour) so i am not sure i will get it fixed for free as i got mine in july time 2016

The motherboard is ASUSĀ® H110M-R: Micro-ATX, DDR4, LG1151, USB 3.0, SATA 6GBs will that fit the component that the mechanic said? thats if PcSpecialist wont fix it

    Thanks

    Hi

Sorry to ask another question i just want to be sure before i purchase and put in the network card in my machine.. I googled my motherboard and couldnt find my one for some reason.. I just want to make sure i am looking at the correct PCI slot.. I have taken a pic of the inside of my machine and put a red square around where i think it goes and seemingly the only slots available..

    Cheers

    Hey guys

It is still not working properly..

I bought my new network card one that was slightly different but i was told by reputable company that the card would work it is a
Intel (R) Gigabit CT Desktop Adapter which i have installed.

The computer picks up the card and allows access to the internet but only at roughly 1.15 mbps again. I am really confused, i thought it might be the wire so i plugged that into my laptop and i get 105mbps..
I tried to download and install the latest drivers but on installation its says no intel card installed.
I have no idea what else it could be

Is it the motherboard? Everything else works ok i can even Play a game online ark Survival Evolved..

    Cheers

    Hello

Yes it does, i have been trying to run intel driver and support assistant but it wont scan. And when i look for the correct driver it just puts me back to the Driver and support assistant

The intel Scan thing is the only thing that works.. and it finds the Network Card.. Could it be the motherboard?

    Very frustrating lol

Another update.. The network card appears to be working now, i have no idea what i did, maybe it was disabling the VPN and allowing the scan to happen.. I hope it keeps working from now on..

Many thanks for you assistance :)

Good to know. :) There was probably conflict with your other installed network card.
