:confusedI am not sure if this is a malware or software issue. I use Mozilla, I have also run the Read & run me first. Early today I repaired a Trojan (Cucusoft). I downloaded and ran some Microsoft fixes. Plus various other programs-IObit, Combo fix, 2 Malware programs and the new AVG.
It is better, I was rebooting every 20-30 minutes. It has been extended to 1-2 hours. I am not sure what to do next. The only computer on the modem/router.
Older computer with a 2003 or so Windows XP OS. The internet just...stops working...times out.
    Any suggestions?

Turn off reboot on error so you get a blue screen with an error. Then we can figure out if there is a hardware, a software or both hardware and software problem.

Right click My Computer, select Properties the click on the Advanced tab. Under Startup and Recovery, click on the Settings button. Uncheck/untick Automatically Restart.

When the blue screen comes up, post the last two characters of the first alphanumeric string and any words.
    example stop error 0x0000003F
you would post 3F because that is the last two characters.

I am sorry it took so long. I completed the instructions. In the blue screen, a window popped up with the info requested. I only managed to write down the PART of the first part when the window disappeared on its own.
I then tried rebooting again and got the rest of the first part.
I have now checked automatic restart, and restarted...am now going to check it off and hope to get the rest. I will hopefully be back soon.

    THANKS!

I could not duplicate it. I'm sorry.
The first set of numbers was"
    0x40000015
Is that helpful in any way?
If not, can you tell me how to get what is needed?

Sorry! I never expected the window to disappear as it did, so quickly.

Truthfully I have never seen a 4 after the x.

    Have an HP computer?

I don't think this is a windows error; it might be an error pertaining to your hardware.

Press the pause key when the popup comes. I don't know if that will stop the error from disappearing.

What particular IObit program are you running? Some people running the malware fighter on XP have had problems. One person here uninstalled it and the computer went back to normal.

It is not an HP, I will try uninstalling IObit and see what happens. Thanks, for responding.
