Is it possible that I deleted the wrong driver for my internet configuration? I was installing a new graphics card and I had a little problem. And now my internet doesn't work, but every other computer in my house works fine, so I'm thinking I deleted something I shouldn't have.

    thanks in advace!

It's possible, but you're going to have to give us a bit more information. Like the specs of your computer, particularly the ethernet card. Do you see your ethernet card in the device manager? What about its software in the add/remove programs control panel?

    Okay, here's the deal:

I had a little resolution problem with Catalyst, and then my monitor wouldn't start. So I took out the gfx card, put the comp back together and started the machine so I could unintall all the video card software. Now, before I did that, I updated all the stuff from the ATI website. And one of them was a .net passport. Which is why I think, by uninstalling all of those drivers, my internet isn't there pretty much.

So when i get home from work tonight, I'm going to download the .net passport, put it on my usb jumpdrive and put it on my other computer and see what happens. I'm pretty sure that's what happened.

    Does that sound logical?

In order to use the catalyst control center you need .NET framework not a .net passport. Maybe that's just what you meant. But you do not need the net framework for the video drivers itself.

THIS is the official drivers, which is all you need to get your video card running. I'm assuming that you have a normal radeon(like 7000 or 9200, etc) and not an all in wonder or integrated or mobile graphics card.

Also, before you install the new drivers, goto start>control panel>add/remove programs; and uninstall your old ATI drivers that way. You might try using the catalyst uninstaller before you install the new drivers, you can find that here:

But, uh, do you see your ethernet drivers in the device manager? (start>run>type: devmgmt.msc>under network adapters you should see your network card)

Yeah I do, but it's a different ethernet card now. With installed drivers and such.

and I have the x1600 Pro Radeon, that is not the problem though. It's the fact that I can't get on the internet.

if you wouldn't mind, could you please look in the hardware forum? because I made a thread about this situation with a long description. I would really appreciate it, because I've only had this computer for two weeks.
