Ok I'm getting this dialouge box that says "Microsoft Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". It then wants you to send a report or not and when I looked at the details it has an Error signature which is App name-iexplore.exe / App ver-6.0 / Mod name-msvcrt.dll . Any ideas on how to fix this ??? Running 98se on an old Compaq presario 5204: AMD-K6 3D : 384mb RAM nothing special.

msvcrt.dll is probably corrupted. You could use the System File Checker to extract a copy of it from your Win98SE CD. Or in your case, that machine may have all the 98 install files in a folder called C:\Windows\Options\Cabs.

Well Doug tried to extract the file but it wouldn't let me said something like it couldn't be found on the disc or whatever. Did the scan and it didnt find anything wrong so something is going on obviously. Any more ideas???

Well I solved the issue but I wound up doing a reinstall to do it. I tried to get it right but sometimes one has to do what he or she has to do to get-r-done. I'm sure if I would have been more patient this issue could have been solved but nonetheless its fixed. Thanks for the help.
