internet explorer 6

    hi,i am using internet explorer 6,and the last couple of days when i receive email's,when i click on a link it will not open or opens to a blank loaded page..can anyone please help?
    but if someone sends me a link while using msn messenger they work fine?????
    ps..im am using windows xp
