Internet explorer 6

    i.e 6 graphics not loading on web pages, only blank graphic boxes with a small white box in uper left hand corner with a red x in it. does anyone know how to solve this problem?

    lets start with this.

    open IE. go to tools.. internet options.. select advanced tab.
    now scroll down to the "Multimedia options" and make sure that "show pictures" is checked..

    Thank's kodo, I think the problem lies a bit deeper than that, i tryed that & checked to see if show pic is enabled, everything is set to default, i uninstalled & reinstalled ie 6 & obtained sp1 for ie6, & installed microsoft virtual machine, & ran adaware, the problem still exists, there are lot's of people with the same problem in the microsoft new's groups. any other idea's? also by right click in the empty graphics area choose show picture then the the graphics will appear only in the box you right click in, at that rate it would take a long time to construct the page.

    When exactly did this start happening? Did you just upgrade to IE 6? Was it working fine before the upgrade?

    nevermind the images not showing up.. it plain out gives me the old "page can not be displayed..etc". ive screwed around with the firewall settings, tried to internet explorer an "exception" and all that kinda rigamoroll.. im sure its a minor problem and im not seeing it but if anyone else has had this problem and figured it out please let me know as i have papers due :(

    its windows xp home.. still havent figured it out yet. going to burn the firefox to cd and take it to the ill-fated soon to be thrown out the window computer and see how that fares.. ill let you know more tomorrow..

    Ok If you were not typing this thread from the computer with the error. Is it possible that your computer was offline and that you were seeing cached images of webpages you had visited? This would also explain the "page cannot be displayed error!"
