Internet Explorer 7.0 keeps wanting to access

internet at random times, when I am gaming it interrupts what ever game I am playing and I have to reaccess game. Windows XP Pro, GeForce 6200 graphics, 1gb ram, Intel 3.06 cpu. I have sygate firewall set to not let programs access internet without my permission, but when internet explorer tries to there is a small blank white block appears in task bar and then game kicks out.

 

Have you gotten all of the updates?

 

yes it is all upto date, this is why I don't allow it to do when ever it wants. sorta control thingy, I want only information on my computer when I ask for it. any idears why the small white box in task bar?
It only does this when internet explore is not open, when I'm online and using explore it does not do this.

 

Does it do the same thing with IE 6.0?

I have not noticed it if it did, had IE 7.0 for a whilyear or so and never noticed it till 7.0 got installed

 

Confused by this. When did you install 7.0? A year ago? Has it been throwing you out of your game for a year?

No, I'm sorry I'm confusing you, but the small white box has been showing up in the task bar for quite a while, a year I guess (sorry I'm 63 and don't remember like I used to), but I just bought and installed Tiger Woods 2007 about a week ago and that's when I noticed that exporer.exe wanted to access the internet and started kicking me out of golf game, the small white box showing up in task bar and then Sygate asking if I wanted to let explorer.exe accces web has been doing for some time, maybe a year, but I have just ignored it. I have Sybot S&D, Spyware Blaster, Sygate Firewall, AVG and Ad-aware running, and I constantly check for bugs and spyware at least once a week, so I was not concerned when Sygate asked if I wanted to let explorer access web and I say no. Now it ticks me off to get kicked out of golf when explorer tries to access web. I hope that's enought info. if not I will give more if needed. Thanks

 

Just a thought the game its self might be asking IE7 to access the net, try allowing access once and see what happens, odds are if it is the Woods program it will ask every time. Hope that Helps
