Internet Explorer 7 problems

Guys,

It seems all my problems are happening at once!

On my PC (XP Pro) I was prompted to install IE 7 which I did.

Now when I try to connect to the internet via dial up, I have to wait ages while it is trying to connect to: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=74005

The usual home page of my service provider won't load straight away as it used to.

I checked my programs in the control panel and I wasn't sure if I should uninstall this or if windows installer 3.1 has anything to do with it.

Any help would be appreciated.

Just another quick note...

I did follow the link I provided in my original post on a wifi laptop and saw the page in question. It seems the dial up process with my old pc is extremely slow, so this may be the problem... I'll wait and see what happens, but it's been trying to connect to that page for half an hour now!

Still no luck with ie 7...

I've tried the microsoft support site for help without luck also. I'm stuck with a page that just won't download and no internet access at all until I complete the process (I think????)

Anyway of undoing what I've done or any ideas?

Can you do a system restore? See if that helps. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools and then there should be one that says System Restore. You may be able to find a date where it installed ie 7 so you could roll back to before the install. and then leave it at ie 6.
