internet explorer 7

System = Alienware with Win XP SP2
Intel Core 2, 2.16Ghz with 4 GB ram

problem recently developed with internet explorer 7,
launches, but will not connect --
no problem connecting with firefox --

Am running
AVG free 8.5
Zone Alarm Free 8
AdAware free 8
SpyBot S&D 1.4
Malwarebytes Anti-malware 1.3
Super Anti Spyware 2.5
all definitions are kept up to date religiously
have run all scans, along with the most recent
windows malicious software removal tool
none have identified a problem
tried launching IE7 with no protection running,
same result
tried reinstalling over existing
(don't know how to uninstall first)
still won't connect

Any help would be greatly appreciated

1. This could be a firewall issue.
2. Try resetting IE7. Open IE -> Tools -> Internet -> Advanced

Ask the mods to remove that email address. You will get spammed like #¤€$£{@£
