Internet Explorer 8 Problem.

    Hi, I have been having problems with Firefox 3 as it does not show the Icons on youtube but plays the movies fine, when I clean cache it will work but then goes back to not showing the small picture Icons, is there a fix for this?
    also on Internet Explorer 8 it will not play movies at all as it tells me
    you either have JavaScript turned off or an old version of Adobe's Flash Player. Get the latest Flash player. Well I have the latest version of flash player, and when I go to tools, internet options, security, and custom level,
    and scroll down to active scripting it is enabled, but why doesn't it work?
    also is Firefox still better than IE 8? I would appreciate if someone can help me out

    Hi

    Factory restore firefox. Go to Start > Programs > Mozilla Firefox > Mozilla Firefox(safe mode)

    Check restore firefox to factory defaults.

    Hit Save and Restart Firefox.

    Hi

    What Windows version and Service Pack? always helps if a route to fix is different per OS.


    I would even though you have latest version installed do a bit of a clean install of the Flash plugin and download the cleaner tool from Adobe HERE and run.

    Do same for Java Runtime and run this tool called JavaRA to remove old Java versions.

    Then run CCleaner and its Cleaner and Registry tool (run the registry one untl nothing shows for removal, do save the registry when it prompts you)



    Then download and install latest Adobe version HERE also update Shockwave HERE

    and Java HERE

    if those dont work also reset IE8 back to default and open IE and click Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab adn click Reset at bottom.


    Do you have a software firewall, if so what one? disable it to test its not blocking streaming video.

    Thanks, I am running windows 7 home premium, and for firewall I only have the one that comes with windows 7.
