I have two problems arise recently.
I used to be able to d/l statements from my banking site but now Explorer prompts with: Internet Explorer blocked this site........ and I must it allow the d/l.

I've experimented with settings in Explorer but still haven't succeeded in fiinding and correcting the problem.

Further it used to allow me save the file to the directory where I keeps these files. Now it wants to save in some temp folder which I can never find. With each statment I must navigate to the proper directory.

My second problem is with watching streaming video. I can still watch utube or other multimedia but one site there is good sound but a lot of crazy colors, no recognizable screen.

Using XP pro and Explorer 8

    TIA

Put the bank url in the trusted sites list. Tools/Internet Options/Security
Then click the Custom setting button and about 1/2 way down, the Download section for trusted sited begins.
I don't know what to tell you about download locations because I use IE only for windows update.

I thought I already had that site in the trusted list bt I added it again and this did help. One step better. It no longer prompts me to d/l the file, however IE still wants to save in Temp Internet files directory which it never did before.

    thank for this tip

In regards to the question about not being able to access the banking site in IE, please try Firefox.

If you can access it in Firefox, the problem is not the connection. It's IE.

    Let me know.

When you download a file in IE, you click save and it should give you a dialogue box asking where you want to save it to. There you can change the location.

Yes now it's working. It always returns to the same location of the last saved file. Exactly as before.

    Thanks to everyone
