Internet Explorer has encountered a problem...

...and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.

XP Home, SP1

Get this error message after computer boots up, with IE not even running. If I click Close, it goes away, but keeps popping up every ten seconds. Does this whethe IE is open or not. When IE is open and it does it, IE doesn't actually close when I click OK. IE stays open and runs fine.


It happens continuosly every ten seconds from the time it boots up until I shut it off.

If it matters, this PC had a lot of viruses and Spyware that are all gone with the help of Chaslang.

This is different than the IE problem I posted about yesterday.

Can't really pinpoint when this started since so much was done with this PC in the last few days.

Heh, not that I think this is related, but what is msmsgs.exe?
I would think that it is msn messenger, but my own is msnmsgr.exe...do you use Windows Messenger?

Also, is this taskmanger pic AFTER the error, or before you close everything?

 

I assumed msmsgs.exe was MSN Messenger, since it is in the System Tray. Hmmm...could be Microsoft Messenger, maybe?

And that screenshot was after the message, while it was displaying.

Well, MS KB pointed to an IE update that supposedly fixes this problem, but all it did ws cause blue screens and restarts!

So I just went and disabled error reporting. So far so god.
