my browser was hijacked by "makemesearch" toolbar. It changed my homepage, added a toolbar and I also got various dialers installed. I have used giant anti-spyware, spybot, hijack this, ad-aware, a2free, spyware blaster etc. I removed "searchbar" in add/remove programs and thought I was finally free of this mess, but my internet explorer will not let me go into tools/internet options.
a message box comes up saying that "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your systems administrator." This is my home pc, not networked, not systems admin. What gives? Some one please help me. I want to change my home page!!!

It could be malware doing this or it could be your own doing.
Did you lock down the settings with SpybotSD's IE Tweaks or Tea Timer Resident protection? This situation is most likely a result of something put into place by one of your Anti-spyware tools.

    Just a thought.
