OK.. Here we go again. I've pasted into text documents and now to this site for help. Seems like a lot have issues, but few resolutions - so lets see where it goes.

Sorry if I copied/pasted more than once on some of this. Really making me crazy.:cry:confusedrolleyes

I can get to mail.yahoo.com log-in, but after that - no where at all.
Just bombs out and I've run all the diags I can find and not able to fix the issue.
Uninstalled/reinstalled tcp/ip, and nic, and Microsoft client, and reinstalled IE, as well.

So not sure what is wrong - pings everything, cannot even open my router page from the pc.

    ready to reimage!

Connect the computer directly to the modem. Power down the modem first just in case it expects the MAC address of another computer.

You might have a router problem.

Turns out it was the software - did the reimage and now on internet and getting updates - working fine, as I'm writing this from the pc I was having issues.

Thank you all for your help.
Was hoping to avoid it, but from what I understand seems to be a common issue every so often - and last time I had to was about 2-3 years ago... so... oh well.

What matters is, it's up and running and my husband's need for his party poker and other websites for sports, etc. will be satisfied again!

    I'm off the SH:(T list.

Can you link to a source?
I have 7 computers in the house running windows and linux. The oldest is from 2001 and if I lose internet access, it is not a software problem; it is some glitch in my router, usually caused by a loss of electricity. I reset the router and I'm back in business.

I reset everything, router, modem, nic, cleaned up the pc, reinstalled IE, and none of it worked.. so I reimaged and walaa - back on line.

I hate the reimage option, but at least my husband is back on his fav sites again and not driving me nuts!:p

I had: Opera, Firefox, Chrome, and IE and none would go to the internet... so at least imaging worked. Had to be something I broke in WIndows, maybe a dll or the winsock - just not sure.

If you have a the OEM insert it into the optical drive ans try going to command promt and type SFC /scannow. This will actually compare all your system files to the OEM image and should solve your problem please in your next post it helps us to know what OS your are using for instance if you are using XP pro there's tools like Dial a fix that can help solve this issue by re-registering with services and other parts of windows .
    I hope this helps

Franinlv, Not tring to give you a hard time, but for you and others to know... When asking for help, you should give details about your problems, what you did to fix it, what you recently installed and your operating system. You used the title for a short description then added about a hundred lines of diagnostic files. I would not post those until asked, OR consider saving as a text document and attaching. This way the thread is easier to read and if the logs are needed, they are easy to get without making the thread 10 scrolls long before we start :)

DomLuc, this is worth noting for you as well, it's just bad form to paste such long files that were not requested without any details. Appreciate your help, just don't want this to become a habit. Most forums refuse to even look at log files anymore, the y flood their message boards and screw up accurate searches. Thanks :)

Geeks ON Demand, if you thought you were going to come here and advertise your business, you are sadly mistaken. Your also coming in very late when other people have the problem in hand and offering generic advice. If your here on good terms, cool, but you need to be a tad more courteous. Thanks.

I know this thread appears to be resolved but I just had a similar situation and am back online(hopefully for good)

I do not know how but for some reason the proxy server box was checked under my LAN settings. I unchecked that and now am back online.
