Internet Explorer not responding?????????

Hi. I have a big problem. I have windows xp home edition. My computer keeps freezing up and saying the Internet Explorer is not responding. Then that message pops up if I want to report the error. So, I have reported it many times and then it asks me if I want the info to fix it. Then it directs me to microsoft's website and it says I need to download SP2. I have tried 3 times to download SP2 but it says I can't. So, I am not sure what to do at this point. Thanks so much for any help:confused

Firstly, run a check for spyware, this is the likely cause. Use the free ones like Ad-aware or Spybot. Available from www.download.com This will scan your system and remove any malware/spyware. You should then find you can get online. If not, do a system restore to when you could get online. When you do get online i suggest you download firefox as a web browser. Just google 'firefox' it is a lot better and quicker than IE. I never have any problems with firefox. I always used to get the same error as you. Good luck!
