internet explorer not working correctly

hi and happy holidays,
I am having a problem with i think internet explorer,i can surf the net for a while then i lose my connection...i have to reboot my aircard...then i have internet again,for a while,and all the while i can use msn messenger..never loose that ..just IE.i have been on phone with sprint tech..they say my aircard is good ..toshiba satellite...vista...sprint mobile bradband

I would guess that the lease for your IP address is expiring too quickly. Try going to aa command window and typing IPCONFIG /Release and after hitting Return typing IPCONFIG/ Renew

 

thanks for the reply...didnt help ..not sure if i did it right ...went to start typed in cmd...then ipconfig/release...came back operation needs elevation?

There should be a space after the IPCONFIG and the /Release (or Renew).

If you still get an error let us know exactly what it says.

Do I take it you are running Vista?

If so try going to All Programs, Accessories, right click Command Prompt and click Run as administrator.

ok am getting no operation can b performed on local area connection2 while its media is disconnected....same for wireless...same for local area connection ..tried it while aircard was up ..and off line ....thanks for your patients.

netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset

got that from sprint tech
