Internet Explorer Problem

    WinXP Media Center Ed SP3 - IE8 -When Internet Explorer is launched, the overall functionality is OK but the menu bar and toolbars and Favorites button are all black. I attached a screen shot below to illustrate what's going on. In the IE appearance menus, all the color choices are set to Windows Default. I have tried using the "Reset" feature, and I can't uninstall it because there's no "Remove" button in Add/Remove Programs. Thoughts?

    Shortly after my first post above, the PC began to hard lock to the point where it had to be powered off to restore functionality. When rebooted, the PC would again hard lock after about 10 minutes of use, so a clean install is going to take place (there's no data to be saved so it's not a big deal).
