I am having a problem with Internet Explorer runing under Win XP.

I accidentally uninstalled it because it was crashing.. But I have tried to re-install it from the Windows Update Site and I keep getting an error which says (Newer Version Already Exists) But I can not get the program to open.

I was using XP Service Pack 2 prior to my error. Can anyone help me with this problem.

    Thanks,

    John

Internet Explorer is tightly integrated within the operating system and cannot be completely uninstalled.

    You could try a repair.

Go to Start, run and copy and paste the following, then click OK. You may need your Windows CD.

    rundll32.exe setupapi,InstallHinfSection DefaultInstall 132 %windir%\Inf\ie.inf

If that fails, in run, type in sfc /scannow (There is a space after sfc )

Again, you will need your Windows CD.
