internet explorer question

i got my laptop in oct of 2004 and got xpsp2 i think thats the name anyway i forgot if it had a internet explorer update on iyt or not

so im trying to figure out what internet explorer version i have can you guys help me

and i wanted to know how i update my internet explorer if i need to once i find out what version i have

 

open internet explorer and click help then about internet explorer
the version type is listed there
to update go to windows update or the microsoft download center

 

i did that and looked at about internet explorer it said version 6.0 sp2 so is that the latest version
