    Hey wk990,

In terms of what robo mentioned, and dealing with updates of IE, have you gone to the Windows Update Site - which is what he meant, although reinstall was a good attempt.

Also, for spyware checkers, several programs you can try that are popular would be:

    Spybot Search & Destroy
    Ad-Aware
BHO Demon (may be relevant to your problem)

...ok and i just noticed that you can't seem to download from IE...
Hopefully one of the majorgeeks can place the downloads for these programs on an ftp server, and you can use your ftp client (be it one you already installed yourself, or the one that came with windows) to grab them.

    o Draith

Yes I did use Spybot / Adware but new to BHO deamon and I have checked for win updates and I'm current with them, I should have mentioned that explorer works fine I can use it and browse all pages load fine and colors are ok It's just when I try to download something or use it to register some thing I purchased. So far I went to event viewer and found the error code and went to MS knowledge base with that I did check what was advised and found only two items that were not loading and they were ( regsvr32 url.dll ) and ( cleaut32.dll) all the rest were ok and did check for missing or corrupt lines in the registery but again all is right. At this stage Im stuck I really appreciate all the help you folks are giving I really don't want to do a clean Install too much to lose or reinstall. again thanks

Just a quick thing for you to check for me.

goto IE and click help > About Internet Explorer and when the version box appears tell me if the Cipher Strenght is 128bit?

I have a suspicion if it doesnt mention 128bit your High Encryption is missing and IE wount let to access secure Web sites ( the ones that take personal information ) to say sign up your new hardware.

or use this to test your browsers ability to view encrypted web pages http://verisign.netscape.com/advisor/check.html
