Internet Explorer Settings (help)

Hi, i'm on Windows XP Home w/ SP 1 installed using Internet Explorer...

I didn't make any changes to my computer or run any new programs and I came back from being gone for the weekend and my settings have changed... For instance, every link i click on opens up a new window, instead of redirecting the current window... I don't know how it changed but i need to know where to go to set it back so that each link i click on a website keeps the same window open instead of opening a new one... thanks

 

nevermind... they (the settings) mysteriously reset themselves back to normal

 

yeah i was gonna mention that info but left it out...

I have spyware blaster, adaware, spybot S&D, installed and updated... using Sygate Personal Firewall, and Norton Antivirus 2002 w/ updated definitions... also recently did a trend micro Housecall scan... i didn't make any changes to my computer in the last few days except on friday my screen mysteriously went black and i couldn't see my desktop (had to reboot computer)... anyhow... i came back today and turned the computer back on and the problem i described above was happening... puzzles me but it's not really significant... thanks for replying

do a search for a program called CWshredder. sounds like a hijacker of some kind.
