Internet Explorer settings not functioning properly

Last week I did a clean install on my Dell Inspiron 580S. Windows 7 64-bit. Processor Intel (R) Core i5. 8.00 GB 7.80 GB usable.
I used the recovery disk that I made the day I set up this computer for the first time.
I had a redirect virus that my anitvirus, malwarebytes, hitmanpro (and a couple others) could not detect.
Since my clean install I have been having trouble with IE. It will not prompt me to save passwords even though the boxes are checked, it will also not show me an updated page when I go back a page. That box (every time I visit the webpage) is also checked. I can only imagine what else is not working. I have tried to reset internet explorer to it's default settings (run as administrator) but that doesn't work either.
When I reloaded from the disk, IE8 was installed. I have since upgraded to IE9to see if that would help and it did not.
Any suggestions?

 

Unfortunately, you're probably still infected despite what any scans that you may have run since you reinstalled the OS may say. Suggest following the procedures in the READ & RUN ME FIRST sticky in the Malware-Removal Forum. If you still have problems, post in that forum per their instructions and they can check out your system. If they say that it's a software problem, come back here and someone will help.

Keep tabs on this thread before you post in the M-R Forum, just in case some IE expert jumps in with all the answers.
