Internet Explorer site history in windows 7

Way back, probably with explorer 6 or 7, it was possible to make a Google search and then refer back to those same searches using history. Every Google page was registered as one history entry, so I could go back, alter the search or go through the same search without remembering what search criteria I used. Since then, the only entries for Google in history are for sites I visit through Google, not the pages of search results. Is there any option I can select so Google pages appear in history? Thanks

 

Glad to have you're here, now, I tried my History in IE8 and in the list was Google and when I click on it , it dropped down, House representatives, when I clicked on that it dropped down, Texas House of Representatives, when I clicked that it took me to the Texas House of Representatives homepage. Is that what you are referring to ??

 

Thanks for your reply. In the past, when I made a search in Google and had several pages of results, all of those pages appeared in explorer’s history. So if I looked at 8 pages of search results, there were 8 pages in history which I could click on, to look back at the search results. Today if I look at 8 pages of results, nothing appears in history apart from a link to www.google.com. If I click on one of the search results and go to a site, that appears in explorer’s history, but not the search results that led to it. Is there any option I could select to get explorer to record those pages in its site history?

 

Ok, well lets try the easiest first. Try resetting IE and see if that helps. Internet Options-Advanced tab-Reset.
