When I double click on the explorer icon many times it windows internet explorer starts to load but stalls and won't do anything. If I right click on it and 'start without addons' it will work. Also it sometimes just starts with a web page from "Sun Shop". Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks :confused

    you could try re-installing IE.

try using firefox or opera browsers instead.
    they are far better.
    both are freeware.

    Hi

Which version of Windows and IE are you using?

It is likely that if IE starts with no add-ons ok that one of the add-ons is causing the problem, so disable all and enable one at a time until you find the culprit.

The other thing that stands out is that "Sun Shop" starting webpage, is this one you know or have set as Homepage? if not then you will have to suspect Malware as the cause of this and for fixing this, please follow the below.

IE 7 cannot be reinstalled on Vista. If you have problem in Vista.

Start IE 7 from the Run Box (Start/Run) and type: iexplore.exe –extoff

That should load IE7 without the Ad-Ons. Uninstall or disable the Ad-Ons.

Pull down the Tools Menu and click on Internet options, choose the Advanced tab and click on Reset IE settings.( http://www.ezlan.net/example/ie7-reset.jpg ).
