I am running IE8 RC1 on a Vista Ultimate SP1 operating system. I also have Kaspersky Internet Security 2009 installed. I can access the internet and various websites without any problem. However, when I go to an https site (or one requiring userid & password that is an http site), IE cannot load the page. I have disabled everything, used msconfig to only install the Microsoft services at startup, checked disk & fixed errors, defragged the C drive, tried Safe Mode, etc. Nothing worked. I can access the pages using Firefox so I doubt that Kaspersky is the problem (or any of the other software services for that matter). The problem only occurs in IE.

I have also tried to reload IE7 but I cannot execute the program because it cannot be validated. I am wondering if I have some kind of problem with a certificate but for the life of me don't know how to fix it if that is the case.

I have been unable to find any help on the Microsoft website and in the forums/newsgroups.

I think I have a technical problem and don't know where to turn. Can someone give me some trouble shooting tips or fixes on this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance ...
