I tried searching but didn't find this thread. And I am sure no one posted in it. But I got IE 8 and I got low RAM and I was wondering what could cause my IE to be so slow! Its worst then dial up pretty much. Takes while to load, once loading wait for main page, then if you go to site it like dial up. lol I only use it for microsoft site sense its so slow. So I am asking what could cause it or maybe fix it?

Sometimes you just get a bad installation. It happened to me when I first installed IE8, and it can happen with any download. Why don't you try uninstalling and then reinstalling, and see if it's any better. When I redownloaded my IE8 it was just fine the 2nd time...

As well as the above suggestions also check you dont have any 3rd party add-ons installed as quite a few of these are not IE8 compatible or need updating, try IE8 in No Add-ons mode (found in Accessories > System Tools menu)

Don't even think I have any addons on it. I upgraded it and never use it.

    No

I tried to uninstall it and re install but you guys said nothing I could do.. Cause I got a half arse fix/repair to start it up. And I got no disc and my IE was older so I updated and then tried unisntalling and it wont(like its made to be on my xp). Also I dont have the basic paint and stuff that comes with your computer/disk and I cant go add it cause it then wants the disk..

I went to the site I add/remove did internet explorer Now I remember I couldn't get it off last time.. I tried on another list on control panel.. and still nothing it was messed up. Anyways I uninstalled/restarted. Now IE is still there on destop (works when open) but no gold on the banner(which I believe shows its IE8). So It may be older version now. Anyways I open it (nothing is faster) I now got an update for Xp ... one those automatic updates for IE 8 downlaod and install IE 8 and I re installed.. now waiting.. ( I am sure you'll tell me to uninstall and do older version again but just to by pass this for now I am re installing it for automatic updates on this computer.

You know, there are many ways to skin a cat, particularly in the world of computers!!! Sometimes, you have to fool your system to allow you to do something it doesn't want you to do. Try uninstalling IE by using Advanced Search. Here's how:

After you've attempted to uninstall IE through Programs and Features, try one more thing first: go into your C drive to manually search for Internet Explorer, and if you find any IE program files, manually delete them. (If the system doesn't let you delete the whole folder at one time, it may very well allow you to delete each file at a time. Or, you can sometimes do it by renaming the files and then deleting them.)

Then, when you've done all you can do manually, do an ADVANCED SEARCH for any remaining IE program files, and delete them that way. (For some reason, the system seems to be more forgiving about deleting files this way, then uninstalling them.)

To get to Advanced Search, press the Windows key on your keyboard + F (or go into the Start Menu, and from inside the Search Pane, press F3).
That brings up the Search page - click the Advanced Search button to the far top-right, to open the Advanced Search Set Up page.
On the Set-Up page, check the 'Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files' option.

Under Location, select Computer, or Everywhere, and in the Name box, fill in the words: Internet Explorer. Click on the Search button, and if any associated files come up, just delete them.

After this first search is completed, to make sure there aren't still any remaining IE files lurking, do additional searches for any other key words you think might be associated with that application. The searches could take 20 seconds or 20 minutes, depending on how many files/folders there are to go through, but eventually, every file related to IE should be off your system.

PS: A word of caution: Occasionally, some of the files that will come up in the search may NOT be associated with IE, the application you're trying to delete. If you're not sure, don't delete those files, because you might be deleting something integral to another file or application. You have to be very careful! However, if you do delete something by accident, fortunately, you can always recover it from the Recycle Bin when you catch your mistake.
