Are there any error messages? What is your ISP? Can you provide screen shots of the problem? What operating system? Browser(s)? Please, provide more information.

    Soo, torrents are slow?

DO you understand how Seeders and Leechers work? When you select a torrent make sure it has a HIGH amount of seeders and a low amount of leechers, that will give you a fast download.
Also you may not have the port that torrents use forwarded correctly.

there arent any error messages, im running xp and i use aol
i no many torrents are slow, but this is every one, my downloads usually run at 150 kbps at least, im now lucky if they reach 2 or 3 kbps

Well, that's interesting. With speeds like 150 kbps I don't think you are using AOL, I just think that's the client, unless AOL has drastically improved their speeds. Sounds like you are getting broadband through somebody, perhaps time warner cable or comcast. I would call them (either the broadband company directly, or AOL) and troubleshoot. I doubt it's a problem on your end, and I wouldn't be surprised if they are capping your download speeds. Good luck.

go here and make sure your ISP isnt listed. as deezeejoey said it is possible your ports may not be forwarded correctly. also what client are you using. uTorrent is the better of them and to speed up torrents if you are using that client try this link

Dude, get rid of AOL.... That shit is terrible for your computer. So much useless crap downloading and running in the background.

Fellas, I would think you would get this by now: It's not just torrents, it's all downloads. That changes your theories a bit, eh?

my bad didnt see the "etc" after he said torrents...
anyway if your running on a wireless network make sure its secured and make sure no one outside is chewing your bandwidth. also run a virus/spyware scan sometimes they can ..ruin... bandwidth. (happened to me on 2 of my computers >.>)

im on a wired connection through a wireless router which has a wpa key so no outside usage.....have been running norton 360 for the last 18 months and have also run nod32 with both finding no problems, its bloomin weird and annoying, never had any problems before, got me stumped as its happening on both my pc and laptop.

and can any1 tell me, if i switch broadband provider, how long can i expect to be offline??
