Internet history

I have run ccleaner and ran disk clean up etc, I have deleted temp files, cookies too. However on internet explorer after I did all that the history of websites I had saved are gone like they are supposed to be but if I type a letter on the address bar it looks like searches and other shortcut history is there. How do I totally wipe everything out? this is with IE6 and i'm sure its the same with IE7. Please let me know thanks so much

Hello Ericnumnutz,

What you can do is just drop down in the search, by moving your arrow down, and then pressing the delete key, and it removes those items.

Other than that, I really don't know how to do it in IE.

 

thanks for getting back to me but neither thing worked. try yourself. clear the http://www in the internet address window and type a letter, first try a and see if something drops down if not try b and c etc then clear all your history etc then do it again and things still pop up not http://www stuff but searches etc. i'm not making it up haha, thanks

Again thanks for getting back to me but yes my laptop is ie6 and I do not have that screen with the settings to delete everything but my sons xp pro machine has ie7 and I went in deleted all cookies history password etc etc etc then i opened up the browser erased the line and typed a and nothing came up then i erased a and typed b and old searches dropped down and so did a few other letters. did u try? thanks for all your help!!!
