Internet History

I want to delete my internet history but im not sure what is the right program to use... any ideas. I did do it by going to internet options but still some sites come up

 

are you talking about when you click on the search bar and you see all the sites you have looked at?

 

If you're worried about your history, I suggest switching to Firefox. It allows you to completely delete your history, cache, saved form info, saved passwords, and cookies.

IE on the other hand only allows you to delete your cache, and partially delete your history. A list of all sites you've ever visited with IE is saved in an index.dat file, which can only be deleted by going into safe mode.

 

This can be done via most Browsers -without the need of specialized software (but there is great software out there that can do this and more) -It's important to know what browser you are using.

So there is absolutely NO WAY to delete OR alter the index.dat file without admin rights? Surely there HAS to be a way?

What if someone re-installed Windows XP...would that produce a new index.dat file...erasing the old one? PLEASE HELP!!! Thank you

scan for unnescessary files ( in safe mode)
stay away from the reg. unless you know what your doing!!
