How do you enable a modem in safe mode in win98se?:)

Not that I need to, but should something happen and I need to, I'd like to know how.

I don't believe that you can enable a modem in safe mode, although I could be wrong. Safe mode loads the minimum that Windows can boot and run with, and that is why it is useful for diagnosing driver problems. A default video driver is even loaded. Hope this helps, and at least you don't have to keep replying to your own posts. :)

Yeah Novice is right safe mode simply loads the minimal function drivers for you to be able to go and fix a problem.
Although I am sure I saw somewhere someone menaging to do it. Quite frankly I beleive it is puriefied B.S :p

Oh, I know there is a way to do it, I'm just not sure how. Supposedly you can start in safe mode with networking support, but I can't figure out how. You can start from the command prompt with certain switches, but I don't know what the commands are.

    from the above link:

"this functionality is not supported in Windows 98.

    RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, install the real-mode network drivers included with your network adapter. For information about installing real-mode network drivers, view the documentation included with your network adapter. "

mmhmm.... now time to figure out what real-mode is... as oppposed to fake mode? haha
