Internet in safe mode

How do you enable a modem in safe mode in win98se?

Not that I need to, but should something happen and I need to, I'd like to know how.

 

Anyone know how?

I don't believe that you can enable a modem in safe mode, although I could be wrong. Safe mode loads the minimum that Windows can boot and run with, and that is why it is useful for diagnosing driver problems. A default video driver is even loaded. Hope this helps, and at least you don't have to keep replying to your own posts.

 

Yeah Novice is right safe mode simply loads the minimal function drivers for you to be able to go and fix a problem.
Although I am sure I saw somewhere someone menaging to do it. Quite frankly I beleive it is puriefied B.S

 

Oh, I know there is a way to do it, I'm just not sure how. Supposedly you can start in safe mode with networking support, but I can't figure out how. You can start from the command prompt with certain switches, but I don't know what the commands are.

 

I am pretty shure with 98se you can't.

I have use 98se for 5 years, now with XP pro.

But with XP i knows you have an option with networking support in safe mode.

But if you found out i would like to knows how you do it !!!!!

mmhmm.... now time to figure out what real-mode is... as oppposed to fake mode? haha

 

I was trying to figure out how to boot into safe mode with networking support with windows me...can it be done? Or should I try to do all the bug removal stuff from normal mode?
