I love classic tv. Many times i get pics from web sites of the characters. They are very clear on the web but when I copy and paste they come out very small and the more I try to enlarge them the fuzzier they get. Is there any kind of software that will take this fuzziness out and give me a clear picture. I know this is probably protected material but the actors/actresses I want you can't even buy them anymore. Any solutions? Thanks

    Hi

Could you post a sample of one and, even though I have Photoshop its not an easy application to use fully ( also costs for latest version CS3 $600+ for full version with older CS2 still around $300+ ), I've had 3 training courses on it and still have only scratched the surface on what it can and cannot do and I worked with it daily for 6yrs+ and still do to a point today.

BUT I will try a few things on some alternative free software that may do what you need, but as Bill mentions about if the image has not enough pixels and is really small your not going to get a larger good image from them.

This is one thats close to having options of Photoshop but FREE http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4548.html

Hi Halo; A very good example of what I'm trying to do is save pics of the Patty Duke Show. Some very good pics are at http://www.officialpattyduke.com/PDS.htm I right click and click save as. I choose my documents. When I open the image it is very tiny. Much more so than the web site and when I try to enlarge useing the magnifier is comes out real fuzzy. Thanks for trying to help.

Hi just to let you know I not forgotten this, use two apps so far and with lack of detail in those small pics are not easy to get to a decient size without some blurring, but have 2 more freebies to try later.

Thanks a lot Halo; I appreciate your efforts. It's really aggravating. You can't buy these pics and yet they don't want you to save them either. :(

I know it's not strictly what you asked, but I just did a google image search and there are some pictures of her on there. If you hadn't already checked it out, here's the URL http://images.google.co.uk/images?q...GB:official&client=firefox-a&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi

Disclaimer - Please note there are some pictures on there which are not her. (like for instance some bloke with a beard and a wig, but it takes all sorts I suppose)

Another option, do you know how to do screenshots?

The "PRINT SCREEN" button on the keyboard copies the entire display, which you can then paste into any decent editor such as Paint. You'll have to crop the image, but it will be an exact copy, same size as what you see on the screen.

Hi Falcon, sorry not got back to you sooner but wanted to give this my undivided attention, without distraction, so here goes....

Sadly the images are way way too small to increase in size without really loosing sharpness ( some are already blurred in the originals ), I tried around 6 different software GFX packages most freebies and two paid for ones.

Before ( a direct right click save as image from the website as you have been doing )

    http://img364.imageshack.us/img364/4845/pdshowchairir7.jpg

    After ( I thought a 200% increase would be enough )

The software used was Paint .Net 3.0 as I listed above for download, steps to get to the above image are Open Image in Paint .Net then click Image > Resize and set to this

    Resampling is Best Quality
click By Percentage and type 200 then click OK ( the image will look blurred a bit )

next click Effects > Sharpen ( this in reality is what Photoshop uses in Un-sharp mask, which is much better than just sharpen, which actually blurs the edges ) adn adjust the slider until your happy > Click OK

    Then Save your Image.

*I dont know what Windows version your using but Paint .Net needs Windows XP SP2 or Vista, so if you have other Windows I will have to look at another app, I have one in mind I will use later as its one I use to batch adjust multiple pictures at once*
