My old router stopped working so I have now got a 'dlink' router, installed it and everything was fine for a few days. I found 2 java virus' and removed them using Avira Antivir but since then instead of the desktop and laptops automatically conecting to 'dlink192' the laptops still do (with a choice of other networks available) the desktop connects to a network called 'Network2' and there are no other options to choose. When I go to 'why are no other networks being found' it says "No additional networks.. The computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured"

There is a 'realtec' network card installed and the desktop pc says it is working correctly.

Does this mean the virus is still there and taking over the internet on my desktop or could it maybe be a faulty ethernet or internet cable? (The desktop is connected via a cable and not wireless).

    Hi

Its still possible as you mentioned that malware is causing this and to be sure run the below and then start a new thread in the malware forum area and attach the logs requested in the guide, then our malware experts will give your logs a review and see if malware is still the cause of this.

What is the make and model of your PC, if a DELL, HP etc?
