Hey, hows everyone doing... Let me get right to it... First of all i have Bell Sympatico DSL internet. I have a D-Link router with 2 comps hooked up to it. On my other comp, the internet was working fine about 3 hours ago. I ran a Spybot: Search and Destory scan aswell as a AdAware Scan on it just because i hadnt in a while. Nothing special came up with the scan, on spybot, it found 2 small things that it quickly erased. On adaware it found 7 objects and most of them being cookies so i just clicked fix. I restart and all of a sudden my internet doesn't work. I can still login to MSN Messenger for exmaple, but opening IE or Firefox doesn't work. When i go start>run>cmd and write ipconfig, my ip isn't there anymore. There are no numbers just 0.0.0.0. Any ideas? Internet still works fine on the other computer, which is the one i'm writing from.

Doulbe click on network places/connections ...view connections ..right click on local connection ...properties ....click on configuration on the ethernet card and see if they are set to auto for ip and auto for dns ....also check the gateway (router) ...

Under the Local Connection it says "Acquiring Network Adress" and just stays like that. MSN won't turn on now too. I checked the router and everything seems to be plugged in fine and whatnot.. any ideas?

Do your ip config on the one that is connected and on the other set the gateway and subnet to those settings and then the ip to one higher than the other ....if the connected one is 192.168.1.101 make the other 192.168.1.102 (assuming the gateway is 192.168.1.1)

Umm where would i imput that stuff on the computer thats not working? Also, on the computer thats working, when i go to network connections, right click on local area connection, click properties and go to the Authentication tab, theres a check beside "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network".. on the one thats not working i can't check it, its grayed out. Does this mean anything?

** EDIT: You know what, i really would have liked to found out what the problem was, but i have exams and need the internet on both computers. I ran a system restore to a few days earlier and it works now. Thanks for your effort.
