    Hello
I run firefox as my defult browser and have been encountering an interesting problem lately. for two days now i have found certain sites to load so slowly that it is virtually impossible for them to completely load. There are too many site that do this for all of them to be having technical difficulties. I have scanned my computer using the cleanup methods suggested in your help section and not a single thing seems to be wrong. Yet I find that sites like trollandtoad.com and yahoo.com don't want to work. they simply stall out.

I tried using internet explorer to see if it was aproblem with firefox but the same occured with that program as well. any help?

    Hi

Have you installed any new security software of late if so what and also while we are at it what security software do you have installed and what OS are you using?

I would imagine you have cleared out the temp internet a cookies folders using say CCleaner?

As its certain sites that are affected I would be tempted to flush the DNS Cache as negative entries can hamper a site loading, to do this open a CMD prompt window ( needs to be from an elevated position in Vista ) and then type at the prompt ipconfig /flushdns and hit enter, do this with the browser closed.

To get to a CMD prompt in XP click Start > Run and type CMD and hit enter

To get to a CMD prompt in Vista click Start > type CMD in the Start Search box and rigth click CMD when it shows in the search list and choose Run as Administrator.

Or you might have unwanted things in your HOSTS file which redirects sites to elsewhere. Works like proxy. The file by default has this line:

    127.0.0.1 localhost

Any other IP + host name shouldn't be there.

Or it may be one of your firefox add-on's. Perhaps, too much privacy protection resulting in some sites not loading properly. i.e. cookies is disabled. You can try creating a new user account, log into that, run Firefox & check out those sites.
