internet sharing-wep key

i have laptop with internet connection. it is also connected wirelessly to a pc. the pc could connect to internet via laptop and share files.
peer to peer.
the wireless con was setup with no security, so i enabled and set wep on both machines.
now i can connect to share files either way but i cannot conect to internet from the pc through the laptop.
i can ping the address of the internet connection from the pc.

have discoverd that windows firewall is stopping the internet conection.
i dont want the firewall off so what do i configure to keep firewall on but allow my remote pc access
