Hi I am using XP with IE7.
Is there a way to get rid of the default IE Icon. Have tried a few registry tweaks to no avail. My mission is to use my own icons when using internet shortcut URL's. Cheers.

I have always been able to use my own icons by simply right-clicking on the shortcut, go to Properties. It should open to the 'Web Document' tab and there's a 'Change Icon' button. Click it, browse to your desired icon, apply it, and you're done. I have done this with Firefox and IE6, and it should work with IE7.

    Good luck!

Hi dlb, I tried the properties route first. It works fine when changing the folder Icons but does not work when trying to change a URL shortcut. Any other ideas
