internet shutting down constantly (w98)

I am having a problem with my windows 98 internet. When I go to (almost) any site, it gives me that box that says windows must close and gives you the error report SEND option.

For instance, I can't go to yahoo.com or myspace.com. I can go to majorgeeks.com, but it comes up again when I click "support forum". I can also go to google.com.

It isn't just in IE either. I also can't receive my mail in outlook express, but limewire works perfectly.

It would appear that the Microsoft Java VM is corrupt.

Do the following:
1. Start your computer with your Windows 98 Startup Disk.
2. Choose Start Computer With CD-ROM Support, and then press ENTER.
3. At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:

c:
cd windows\system
ren jscript.dll jscript.old
ren vbscript.dll vbscript.old
ren dispex.dll dispex.old
ren scrrun.dll scrrun.old

4. Extract the following files from your original Windows 98 media to the Windows\System folder:

Jscript.dll (in the Win98_32.cab file)
Vbscript.dll (in the Win98_39.cab file)
Dispex.dll (in the Win98_31.cab file)
Scrrun.dll (in the Win98_57.cab file)
