Internet site filters

Hi I need software reccomendations free or pay for, that filter out xxx sites and other nasties.Im sick of my kid lookin at that crap and his little brother finding out what he is lookin at!

I have outpost firewall can I use that to block this kind of stuff? if so how do I do it cos I cant work it out.

Im sure others will chime in with thier recommendations as well but the one that I used to use was Hedgebuilders. It actually will let you chose (which sites you want to block, you can check off which type of site(s) you dont allowed automatically, i.e. casino and gambling, chat rooms, adult sites) and it has a filter as powerful as you will let it be (images, sites as well as keywords). It also cannot be uninstalled with out calling a special phone number and entering a password they give you (pretty secure I thought). I worked great for me.

I'm using Kaspersky Internet Security, this is an All-in-One software (Antivirus, firewall, parental control ...), it will allow you to add some sites in your black list, and block some crapies banners (e.g. : porn or others). This one is really worth getting

 

I personally haven't used either of these (I don't have kids), but my friends with children recommended these to me: NetNanny is one, and CyberSieve is the other. I briefly looked at CyberSieve's home page and it looks pretty good; it has TONS of options you can configure. I don't have any links handy, but CyberSieve is at www.softforyou.com and NetNanny is at www.netnanny.com Neither software is free, but they're reasonably priced and they do a great job....
