Internet slow after reinstall

    After I reinstalled Windows XP Pro. the internet is really slow to what I had before. I have hardly anything on the computer at this time. Is there a way to boost it up? I have an ethernet connection. Thanks for any info.

    Hi

    Also check Device Manager for any yellow ! marks as this will signify you have some missing drivers and could in part be the cause of the slowness.

    Also do you have any security applications installed, if so what? if you have a software firewall, disable it to test.

    Also, can you let us know if you're connecting through a router or straight through a modem, or if you're on wireless?
