Hi, I'm new to Major Geeks but it's been a great help and resource. My internet has been cutting out recently 5-10 minutes after a reboot, and my browser does not connect to any website. I can still ping websites when my browsers are down and my internet connects again after my reboot. I've tried using various browsers and have run numerous scans with a bunch of Antivirus programs and they've all come back with nothing. I've run the basic scans outlined in the FAQ and have attached the logs below. Please help me fix this, I'd rather not have to reformat :/

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

It does not look like you are having malware problems based on your logs which are all clean. Also your symptoms do not sound like malware since it only starts after a number of minutes. I suggest that you try booting in Safe Mode with Networking to see if you still have the same problems. Also try using Internet Explorer but run it with no add-ons ( right click the IE icon and you will see the Start without Add-Ons option ).

Also next time you have the problem, try the below and see what happens:

Click Start > Run and type in cmd
    • Click OK.
    • This will open a command prompt.
    • Type or copy and paste the following lines ( one at a time) into the command window and hit enter after each one and wait for it to complete.
      • ipconfig /flushdns
      • ipconfig /release
      • ipconfig /renew
    • Exit the command window and see if there is any change to your connection

It turns out AVG Free was stopping me from connecting or something like that, after uninstalling it i've not had any problems. Thanks for the help!

I guess you found this out when you uninstalled it to run the READ & RUN ME FIRST and ComboFix. I did not see AVG in your logs so it was uninstalled. I guess you did not have the problem during this time.

Since you are not having malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /uninstall
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /uninstall, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
    3. Go back to step 6 oof the READ ME and renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it.
    4. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    5. If running Vista or Win 7, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    6. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    7. Goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders
related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    8. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
