Internet Timing Out Frequently (Help)

My modem/router has recently started timing out frequently in the past two weeks and it isn't timing out and waiting 5 minutes or an hour wait then the router is fine for a while type of problem. (This problem is for both LAN cable and Wifi) My internet connection will time out for a short period and return to normal within a short period of time and will do it several times and then it will also act up to the point of also frequent timing out then following up with a follow up time out that lasts at least 30 minutes before it works itself out. I'm not very tech savvy about average but I am stumped when it comes to trying to troubleshoot my problem. A helpful answer would be so much appreciated!


*PS*-Also I have noticed that today during a long period time out that it went from an error code displaying timed out to "dns probe finished no internet"
