Internet via cable or satellite

    How do most internet transmissions travel? Through cables and undersea cables or through satellites or both? I am doing some research on transatlantc communications and looks like undersea cables carry the transmissions.

    I'm no expert, but I'd wager cables. I don't think sattelite is stable or reliable enough to handle such a massive load.

    That is what I was thinking. I live about 15 miles from Manasquan NJ where I think major cables link to Europe.
