Internet (when installing WINDOWS VISTA)

I am planning on upgrading from XP to Vista...however, before I do, I need to know if I will have to install my internet connection, again. What I mean is, if I keep my USB cable hooked to the router, will I have to go through the strenous process of installing my internet again? Reason I ask is because it's not something I'll need after another 3 months (when I move to Europe and change companies), so will I have to install it or will it already be "installed" when I upgrade my PC?

What do you mean by install your internet connection again? Are you talking about the software provided by your ISP? Is your PC a Desktop or Laptop? does it have a NIC connection?

Depends on how you connect to the internet and your ISP, if you connect via your modem/router and the settings to connect are saved in those ( I know mine is like this ) then no you should not have to install the internet settings again, however if you connect via a software route on your PC, then if your ISPs software is not compatible with Vista then yes you may have to update or re-install the software.

But an upgrade from XP > Vista will normally leave all your settings intact, but run this first and see what may not be Vista compatible http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/windowsvista/buyorupgrade/upgradeadvisor.mspx
