Internet wont work helpp

Hey my dad really needs to connect to the internet but it wont work with his computer. It is not the router because the internet works for every other computer in the family. I have already checked the lan settings and the internet it not going through an unkown proxy. please help thank you

Answer this:

- Windows recognize "LAN is connected 100mbs..." and when you unplugg the internet cable windows advice it?

- Did you ever connect that computer before to internet and now is failing or it's a new computer?

- Do you have any other computers connected to the same internet?

Try a hard reset of the modem and router.
Unplug the devices for about a minute, then plug back in.
Works on my cable connection.
