A friend of mine is reinstalling windows 95 on his very old compaq computer. I believe he did a full fdisk and format. Now after a restart he is getting an "invalid system disk, replace the disk, and press any key" I have had this problem my self, but unfortunitly i forgot how to solve it. He is using the windows 95 boot disk that he has and some boot disks that i made for him from bootdisk.com. All show the same result. I looked through some google pages and microsoft.com but it was hectic. My dsl is down again, and im stuck on a dial up. :(

If anyone has seen this before please help!

    thanks as always

if you did an fdisk and didn't set an active partition, you will get this message too.

make sure boot order is set to floppy first.

And also when he formats C: he needs to run format c: /s to make the HD bootable, or if already formatted run sys c:

Removable devices are the first things to boot, then the HDD, and finaly the CD-Rom.
This time when i rebooted i got an I/O Error, I reinserted the disk and the i got the same thing as before.

    Thanks,

    Bootable CD???

Could it be possible that the floopy driver went bad? If so would i be able to make a bootable cd (Same as a floopy but on a cd?) How would i go about doing that?
